Masha Orlov styled the 2012 Ready to Wear EMERSON show at fashion week.

This Friday the EMERSON Collection debuted a combination between light + dark as well as hard + soft. Founder and designer Jackie Fraser-Swan skillfully mixed materials like lace and leather to create her interpretation of a modern girl with an edge.

Models walked the runway to guitar-clad rock songs like "Future Starts Slow" by the Kills and their muted make-up and natural hair let the clothing speak for itself.

Gradually, the color palate became bolder as it went from wispy grey prints to bright blue and purple hues.

With asymmetrical hemlines, raw cage detailing, and a fusion of contrasting textures the collection showed that a look can be both sophisticated and rebellious.

The accessory of choice was eyeglasses by Eye Fly, which suggested even edgy women have an inner geek.

In the front was actor Eric West and blogger Anthony Vito to name a few.

Some show favorites were the white spotted sleeveless top with cage detailing and the silver metallic print blazer. With 27 looks in total the collection was an intriguing start off to fashion week.
